CASPER was established by two mothers whose children died by suicide. The group believes that the knowledge and experience of families bereaved by suicide is as valid and important in understanding and preventing suicide as clinical trial data and epidemiological studies.

Assistance with inquests including evidence gathering, working with police, preparation of briefs of evidence, briefing expert witnesses, attendance at pre-hearing conferences, preparing and conducting cross examination, representing families at hearing. Assistance with other inquiries including those involving the Health & Disability Commission, Medical Council and Human Rights Tribunal.
Referrals to other support agencies including those providing alternatives to mental health treatment. Information, support and advice from those who have experienced the above proceedings.
Information presentations using the latest statistics and research on suicide. These presentations can be tailored to particular interest areas including female suicide, suicide in Maori and Pacific youth, suicide as a social, not medical issue etc. Contact us to book a free presentation.
