Coroner Allows Uncensored Reporting of InquestThe inquest into the daughter of CASPER founder Deb Williams made history yesterday with a decision by the Chief Coroner that the media would be allowed to report it in full. The Chief Coroner having said he thinks that this may be contributing to our suicide rate reversed usual processes yesterday allowing cameras in the courtroom and telling the media they could report fully. At CASPER we believe open discussion of the circumstances leading to suicide is critical to ending the 10 suicide deaths a week in NZ. |
